The idea of the Living Family Tree© has been developed over the past twenty years. The idea was inspired by the overwhelming destruction that is often caused by natural disasters. All too often the pictures and other important documents of a family are either destroyed or spread over several miles. Often times these pictures, letters and home movies are one of a kind and can never be replaced.

This project was born out of a desire to prevent the loss of those irreplaceable family items. After a family has experinced a natural desaster, the last thing they should have to worry about is the loss of their family treasures. No one should die trying to save a charished photo album or collection of love letters. These can all be preserved online through the Living Family Tree Project©.

What does a Living Family Tree Do?

In the Living Family Tree© we connect all the dots and add value to the information that you have already collected. We create a narrative that places all the pictures and documents into contexts within the persons’ life.

In the major family tree programs on the market all dates and documents are stored and displayed seperatly. In the Living Family Tree© we join this information so that when you click on a date the document that goes with that date is displayed.

How is an Individuals' Life Displayed Differently?

Their story is told in narative form.
They have a photo album to display photos and videos.
They would have general historical information.
When available, audio recordings.
We attempt to bring the individual to life.
We try to show how historical events shaped their life.

What is a Living Family Tree

The Living Family Tree© is a custom built site for your family. All of the information on the site is provided by you or other members of the family. We work with you to create a design that tells your family story in a way that keeps everyone coming back to find out more. The amount of information will grow as others in your family add to the wealth of information you already have.
